FREELANCE KANSAS

Stop Starting Your Content Marketing Over Every Month.

You don't necessarily need another full-time hire

Your marketing workload may justify more help without justifying another salary, benefits package and lengthy hiring process. Even after finding the right person, somebody still has to onboard, manage and keep that employee productively occupied.

Freelance Kansas gives you experienced marketing capacity in the amount your organization actually needs.

I can join an existing operation, learn how the pieces fit together and take meaningful work off your team’s plate. You get someone capable of working independently without pretending to be an entire agency—or creating another full-time management responsibility.

Freelance Kansas provides ongoing content marketing support for businesses, nonprofits and communications teams in Lawrence, Kansas City and beyond.

Freelance Kansas is a one-person practice. You work directly with me, Haines Eason — a journalist by training, strategist by practice and experienced content producer.

Bring me the plan and I’ll help execute it. Bring me the problem and I’ll help determine what should happen next.

Give me the plan or give me the problem

Some clients already have the strategy.

Their CMO, communications director or leadership team knows what needs to happen; they need an experienced person who can take the direction and run with it.

Others know their marketing isn’t working but haven’t pinned down what needs to change.

Freelance Kansas can help in either situation. Give me the plan and I’ll help execute it. Give me the problem and I’ll research it, ask better questions and help determine what makes sense.

Most ongoing relationships involve some of both:

dependable production informed by honest analysis and strategic judgment.

One content partner, multiple ways to move the work forward

Content rarely lives in isolation.

An interview may become an article, inform a newsletter, supply several social posts and uncover the next useful story. A new message may need to carry through a website, presentation, campaign and sales conversation.

Freelance Kansas connects the dots instead of treating every deliverable as a billable line item.

Editorial planning and research

I identify useful questions, research the subject, interview the right people and build editorial plans around what your audience actually needs.

I create accurate, substantive articles, case studies, thought leadership, website copy and campaign materials that sound like your organization.

Newsletters, email and social content

I turn your priorities into connected communications, adapting the message for each channel instead of repeating the same copy everywhere.

I create original images, interviews and visual assets that strengthen the larger content system — and reduce the need to coordinate another vendor.

What ongoing content support looks like

For Trustice Law Group, ongoing support means maintaining a coordinated monthly content program across several legal practice areas.

Freelance Kansas produces four substantive articles each month, develops the firm’s newsletter, creates supporting social content and helps promote webinars and other timely initiatives. Editorial planning connects the pieces, while regular coordination with the firm’s attorneys and partners keeps the work accurate and aligned with current priorities.

The result is not simply a collection of deliverables. It is a dependable production rhythm: complex legal knowledge becomes useful public-facing content, and the firm does not have to rebuild that process every month.

Your engagement will not look exactly like Trustice’s. The point is to build a similarly coherent system around your organization’s actual needs.

When the message itself needs work

Sometimes increasing production would only amplify an unclear message.

The Kansas Statewide Homeless Coalition came to Freelance Kansas with a more foundational challenge: helping diverse audiences understand complicated systems work surrounding homelessness in Kansas.

That engagement connects stakeholder research, message development, audience-specific narratives, press materials, communications planning and website architecture. Before individual pieces could work together, the larger story needed to be understood and organized.

This is where strategic guidance becomes essential. If your organization knows what it wants to accomplish but struggles to explain the work — or different people explain it differently — we may need to strengthen the foundation before increasing the output.

Ongoing support works best for businesses, nonprofits, professional-services firms and communications teams with something substantive to say — and enough commitment to keep saying it.

This probably is not the right relationship if you want the highest possible volume at the lowest possible price, daily trend-chasing, full-time community management or anonymous production labor that never questions the assignment.

I do my best work shoulder to shoulder with do-gooders, innovators and world-changers whose work I can genuinely invest in.

You may be a strong fit if:

  • Your team has expertise, stories or ideas that rarely make it into finished content.

  • You know what needs to happen but lack enough experienced hands to execute it.

  • You need someone who can work independently and learn the organization.

  • Accuracy, curiosity and informed judgment matter to you.

  • You want a partner who will question an idea when necessary, not simply fill an order.

  • Someone inside the organization can provide access, context and reasonably timely feedback.

  • You are prepared to sustain the work long enough for consistency to matter.

Who this model works best for

How monthly
engagements

work

Ongoing engagements begin with a conversation about what you are trying to accomplish, what keeps getting stuck and what capacity already exists inside your organization.

From there, I recommend a monthly scope built around your priorities, publishing rhythm and available budget. That scope may center on dependable production, strategic problem-solving or a combination of the two.

Before work begins, we will agree on:

  • What Freelance Kansas owns

  • What your team provides

  • The expected monthly work

  • How information and feedback move between us

  • What falls outside the engagement

  • What the relationship costs

Monthly engagements begin at $1,500.

The final investment depends on the volume and complexity of the work, the mix of services and the level of strategic involvement required.

The goal is a clear, sustainable working relationship: fewer restarts, less management overhead and more useful work making it out into the world.

Ready to stop restarting?

Give me the broad strokes. I’ll tell you honestly whether I think I can help.
